HI Cecil, I'm sorry you're going through this. As someone who's been through a similar crisis in my life, I can say that your support of your daughter will make all the difference in the world.(my family never supported me.) take care, I hope she's better soon.

This is actually a good thing, as a diagnosis means recovery is on the way.

I wish that had happened to me when I had my breakdown when I was 17. I wonder where I'd be now if I got the treatment I needed back then...

So sorry. It's a night others here may well have experienced, too. Frightening and exhausting. Here's hoping everyone's safe and sound now, and can get some rest with hopes for healing.

Thanks for the support. The girl has been through a lot. Her biological dad is emotionally abusive (was physically abusive to me). I left him when she was 4 but he had liberal visitation.I remarried when she was 10. When she was 12 she came home from school and found her step-dad dead. A little less than a year ago she was date raped. She would never talk about any of this but she wasn't functioning. Not work, not school. She tries but has ended up dropping her classes and quitting her job. I just hope she follows up on the aftercare. She is home asleep now and has been set up with an appointment at a counseling center.
