Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Support Group
Find support with others who have gone through a traumatic experience. Whether you have chronic or acute PTSD, we are here for you.

I just spent the better part of an hour texting my best friend and giving her some coping skills to work with that are very effective for me so I thought I would share as PTSD usually comes with high anxiety and we all know when that happens that sometimes rational thinking just fly.s out the door and your stuck in your own personal hell. I use five index cards and on each card, I have written small notes to myself. When life goes to shit I get my cards if I can't remember it on my own and I flip through them repeating them out loud until I feel better.
1. I am safe.
2. It wasn't my fault.
3. I deserve love and happiness.
4. I am loved.
5. These feelings won't last forever.
Just wanted to share in case its helpful to anybody else. Those close to me and that are in my support system daily, like Jason (the guy I live with) know about the cards and know to get them if I need them or to at least walk me through the sayings.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I don't know why I've never tried that. Hmm. IDK. Makes me wonder.
Thank You so much for sharing.
