Children?

Anyone else out there have children? I have ptsd because of a lot of things. Two rapes were the initial trauma. But over five years ago my daughter was molested, at our old church. This week-end is my daughter's first sleep over ever. I am going crazy even though we have taken precautions. We have met the Mom and friend who are hosting sleep over, been to the house, daughter has sell phone, given safety and no means no speech. But I still have paranoia. Anyone else been through this?

My daughter hasn't been molested but I def feel your fear. I don't know if its the ptsd stuff the rape memories or just my gut, could just be a mom thing too but I'm a spaz about stuff. Take extra good care of u during this stressful time and keep in mind that uve done ur best to prepare and asure her.

Oh my God that is horrible. Your poor daughter! I don't have kids but that would just break me. That is so horrible that that happened at church. This is why I don't trust churches.

I would suggest that your daughter get therapy for sexual abuse. They can teach them about this kind of stuff.

My "Children" are 30 and 34 and I am still going through similar, Sean. It is a Life sentence. As long as I remind myself to keep it real, I think it has allot of healthy potential. Family is a primal need in this nature freak's mind.

And then there are all the goodies my PTSD issues add to the mix... YIKES!!!

I attend extra support meetings, etc., when I start stressing over the parental questions. Yes, there are real dangers in the world and a good parent does what needs to be done. In my personal case, mom's PTSD issues are among those real world dangers and working my therapy program is what needs to be done to protect them from my hyper-vigilance, etc., etc. Mother only needs one more letter to make "Smother."

No kids here, but my friends all have kids, I have 7 godkids, and it's definitely stressful---make sure you let your daughter know you trust her good sense. My mom did that, and it (drat Mom anyway) was probably the most effective way to get me to really hear her and listen to her. ...

BTW, I'm 44, I have a virus, and my 71-year-old Mom is freaking out about it.... Yep, you're in it for life. It's a sign you're a caring parent:-) Good for you!

    I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying.  I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there.  I think that I will start writing in it again.  It's so therapeutic.
