Is it possible to stay oriented in the whelming of a psychosis? Inside my personal skin this morning, I don't believe so. Whether the psychosis is a slow creeping fog of paranoia, a fast ripping tsunami of flashbacks, or one of the degrees in between, I always seem to find myself so disoriented that *knowing* which way to turn gets me lost as quick as random wandering. Much of what I *know* is more problem than solution. Some of my best thinking got me here. . . More and more, I believe the best thing to do in a psychotic whelming is to sit it out and wait for the psychosis to pass. Prayer, by whatever name, gives me something to do while I wait. As I pray my way through, I listen for "The Quiet Voice" to let me know it is time to take the next step. The knowledge in my head is far noisier than the guiding whispers of the healing mysteries.

Somewhere along the way, this process, by whatever name, wove its way into an on-going habit which I use as freely on the good days as the bad days. I pause for gratitude as readily as I cry for help. I think. Maybe? Just sorting. . . Looking for words for ^it^.
