Tomorrow starts more RTM therapy. I've been through it before, last year, but need to go back again. It might be going on for awhile because there are so many memories to go through. Am really hoping to have even a little progress. Wish me luck

I'll tell you how it was from my sessions last year. The goal was to lower your feelings of fear, helplessness, and a 3rd feeling I can't remember, associated with a traumatic memory. The exercise is repeated as many times as necessary until these feelings are at as low a level as they can get.
In my sessions last year, I started out by picking a memory, then levels were taken of the above mentioned feelings. I picked a starting point, and ending point of that memory. The memory was going to be turned into a movie, so in my mind I visualized any movie theater I liked. I decorated it however I wanted. I imagined the the way it looked, the smells, temperature, etc. Then visualized the film room up at the back of the theater. Visualized myself sitting in the seat, ready to watch the movie. Then I flew up into the film room. I would start the movie of that memory, but I wasn't supposed to watch it. Instead I had to watch myself sitting in the theater as she watched the memory. The memory was sometimes in black and white, color, slower, faster....At the end I had to tell what myself (in the theater) looked like while watching the movie. Process was repeated as many times as needed. Then the movie, was played backwards at high speed and I imagined the memory and its effects undoing itself. Lastly, I visualized myself stepping into the movie screen, and picking an alternative, better ending than the one that was traumatic, and played the movie again with that alternative.
One memory took 5 weeks to get through, but I remember the process to be gentle and I felt safe going thru it with the therapist.
I'm looking forward to the updates.
Wow! Go you!!
