Sorry that happened. I'm glad you're okay.

In 2011 I drove a moving van 1500 miles to my new job. When I arrived at my boss's house, I got out of the cab and fainted. So embarrassing. My boss's husband drove me to the hospital where I found out it was blood sugar: I was diabetic and didn't know it. It turns out my mood swings hadn't been PTSD at all, they were physical blood sugar changes.

Keep us posted. Hope it's not full blown diabetes, but it sounds like it could be hypoglycemia, yes. Take good care of yourself, ok?

This has happened to me a few times. a couple times when I got up too quick from a nap, got up and fell on the floor. A couple times, it happened when I got up out of bed from sleeping and going to the bathroom to urinate. They were sudden drops in blood pressure. This occurred when I was on SSRI's. Since I stopped taking them, it hasn't occurred again. I hope you go see your GP get a good physical and blood work done so they and you can see what is going on. I hope you feel better soon.

For me, this was a natural result of being underweight. Hypotension, not to be confused with the more publicized extreme of hypertension. It has been allot of years since I have been underweight, but I still lose weight with frightening speed. Dizzy spells, like the one you describe, often accompany the weight loss.

To get through the dizzy spell, I immediately sit and do nothing until it passes. It disables my intellect more completely than fear and I expect nothing of myself until I regain my balance.

To fix the problem, I tweak my diet. Forgetting to eat at all is still my biggest diet problem.

But that is me... Just sharing. . .

sorry that happened..... scary and I echo others... please get it checked out... I get faint and nearly pass out a lot... but mine is low blood pressure.... so I have to make sure I have a bottle of water handy at all times.... it was only in the hospital I realised that fluid can bring blood pressure back up.. don't know if that's salient to you at all... just a thought

I will have to schedule a blood-glucose challenge test, but it probably will take a while.
In the meantime I will behave as if I have hypoglycemia.

I have a fasting blood sugar scheduled, but that 's not a challenge test. I will call my Pdoc on Wednesday when she is in.
