The Beekeeper Allergy is hitting me in some soft spots. The wounds are still fresh enough that I ask, "Please wash your fingers before you wiggle them in my open wounds." Still. . . They have -maybe -could be healed far enough to risk enunciating them here in this gentle, supportive place. For certain these wounds are not healed enough to risk the high winds of the mainstream. In this case, mainstream bee horror stories might be the dirty fingers I most need to keep out of this wound set. Feel free to start another thread on bee horror stories. Forgive me when I skip it.
Background:
I believe it was October when Hubs and I moved the apiary from his father's farm in Washington on the Brazos to their current location in Hutto. The family drama surrounding that move is not mine to sort. For me, the hardest part of loving someone is leaving them enough room to sort their own issues. Girl, howdy, I've been working overtime on just staying out of it.
During this Egg Shell Waltz, the bees mobbed my hands. Swarming bees are not very dangerous. Their survival depends on staying together and if you ain't their designated meeting tree, you are quite safe. Not even important.
A bee mob is a bee of a different buzz. These be angry bitches united in the need to get their point across. Ya know. . . kinda like a human mob after the local misfit. . . Light the torches!!! Gather the pitch forks!!! The mob will find the most vulnerable spot the enemy has and target all available weapons. In this case, it was my hands. The FIL's employees had carried off my husband's bee gloves and I had loaned him mine. I thought my work gloves would suffice. Insert Mark Twain quote here. "A man who carries a cat by the tail will learn a lesson he can learn no other way."
My reaction to bee stings has changed radically since then. I have only been stung 4 times since then, but . . . All 4 stings festered painfully. Used to be I had a harsher reaction to mosquito bites than bee stings. Are those fear reactions clouding the mind of The Iron Maiden?
Inside the beekeeper circles, this is classic "Beekeeper Allergy." Beekeepers shrug at it, wish you luck, then get back to their bee talk. I haven't bothered visiting the medical parks for it. Medical schools understand bees about as well as beekeepers understand medical schools. Even they Mayo Clinic has posted standardized myths about them. Who cares? Just copy and paste. . .
Small steps. This step is just to see if I can enunciate it without triggering a flight to the Eastern Hemisphere. Off to give it the old soft chew. . .
Thank you for the safe place to give it a try.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
It's a very rational response. Soft soft support....
Enunciate freely and safely. We're here.
Speculating down this line has lead me to wonder if this is an extension of the Egg Shell Waltz between hubs and I. We have come a long, ol' way in our interactions, but we still spin into our old Egg Shell Waltz. This speculation believes, that it is no coincidence that the bees attacked at THE same moment Hubs slipped into Executive Mode and I was merely responding to his Executive Command voice.
How nuts am I to wonder if the bees don't like the Egg Shell Waltz any more than I do? That this developed allergy could be psychosomatic?
Of course. . . I am equally prone to denial. . .
Still sorting. . .
Update: Hubs decided to give one of this spring's increase hives to the HS buddies we partied with last weekend. Their spread and bee interests look like worthy testing. Meet the Apiary High Fashion I will be wearing to help move the hive. It is an US made product that makes me proud of my countrymen.

Hubs is still undecided about whether to finish the other half of the drive to Houston after the bees are settled. Still letting his indecisiveness be okay. It is allot to sort. It is his to sort.
That is one hot outfit! ;)~
Safe beekeeping to you hun
