Someone in my choir has been saying mean things to me, like "You don't have to hug me." during peace. He also said, "be sure to get the stuff that makes you smell better" at the grocery store when I was looking at soap. Last thing he said to me, randomly, "stay OUT of trouble." Last week I saw him looking at me with the same frown of disgust that people at the dance studio looked at me with after I was kicked in the groin from behind. He seems to have stopped the comments. Keep in mind that my "crime" is making eye contact and hyperventilating while dancing, not on purpose. Last year! Maybe he's just a grumpy old man?
I stupidly sent the dance teacher a link to my uncle's mug shot during an intense nightmare last year. No response ever came thank God. I guess he deserved to know that my PTSD episode wasn't about him; he did hug me until I stopped shaking. But it feels like the family secret has exploded in my face. Nervous that I saw a reporter from my uncle's state on my friend suggestion list. Is a sex offender with a double Y chromosome who committed incest and lives in a fancy neighborhood mostly unknown news?? I have also talked to my therapist and priest about it. I think my priest may have told my Herbalife friends about it; because they were mentioning explicit songs and what I thought of explicit material and then asking me out of the blue, what would be a good ballroom dance studio for someone last time I got a shake. I named a bunch of dance studios and suggested the place where a friend teaches. She seemed to be trying to get me to name the dance studio! I thought reconciliation meant that the priest couldn't rat you out. But, again, I am paranoid.
I had a public episode, was assaulted publicly, so, I just feel so raw and vulnerable. But I live in a small city, and the dance teacher seems to be a drama queen that gossips. It's hard to be "outed, " if I am being outed.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

Are you seeing a doctor or therapist right now sweetie??... I agree that you are 'sounding' paranoid... However that doesn't mean you're wrong...
Not too many priests would ever participate in gossip though especially if this is something said in confession...
Big hug for you ...xo
That doesn't make the stress or fear any less. In many ways, it probably makes it much, much more.
Fear is it's own little animal. And it's NOT fun. At times it makes the person a bit of a pain, but it's 1000 times worse being the one paranoid and living through it.
Hugs, hugs, and more hugs,
Patti
My uncle is almost 70 now and his reign of terror is over. He is still on probation and always being watched. I hope no other little girls have a childhood like mine.
Disappointed that my return to ballroom dance was a disaster. I don't really know what happened except I was bullied and assaulted, but it's over.
It's the fear feelings I'm dealing with now; my body has mostly healed. It was hard to forget when it hurt to have a bowel movement for weeks and then some groin issues intensified in January when I got a new bike with a new seat. I didn't want to believe it was real, but my body knew what had happened. it's been bizarre.
I don't know the whole story here and that isn't important. Suncloud is right, this guy does sound like a jerk. The other random comments from other people could just be their attempt to cope with their own fears.
PTSD can cause what is called the fight or flight syndrome and that sounds like what you are experiencing. Paranoia can run hand and hand with it. I am not qualified to say if you are paranoid or not however I can say that the fight or flight syndrome kicks in pretty quick sometimes with me and sometimes both at the same time!
I am so sorry you are having to go through this in addition to what you have already been through. Hugs!
whether or not it is your PTSD kicking up a tangle for you or not, I hope you can know we are here for you, k?
lots of hugs, Lilly
But hey, if you ever do find the magic "shake it off" method, please do share. Heck patent it and you'll make millions.
I love my husband, but there is a coldness in him. These two emotional younger men gave me some drama and passion. But it was wrong. I hope I've learned my lesson.
1. Why the attraction/need for "drama" and "passion"? Is it the adrenaline rush? B/c you can get that elsewhere, through sports, exercise, etc. Do you feel "flat" if there's no "drama"? That'd be one to take to the therapists for sure.
2. What is this "coldness" in your husband? Is he emotionally flat, unaffectionate, etc.? Or is this that he doesn't react the way some part of you wants him to? (Again, one for therapy.)
3. The "emotional younger men" gave me pause. Is it that you feel desired and young? What in you wants/needs that, and do you need it from outside yourself?
I ask all that because the need for drama? Is a huge red flag for me. I've survived people who needed drama. Created it. Were happiest when observing it, as long as they weren't going to get hurt. And that need for "excitement"... well, it can go malignant. It can really just be a lashing out in anger, wearing a mask. It can be crying for attention for unacknowledged reasons. And it worries me on your behalf, because there may be something in you that needs help and isn't getting what it requires. Just a thought, admittedly, but it's where I'm at.
All this with the disclaimer: I'm just a shmuck, reacting out of my own issues, so I can be easily ignored, deleted, or so on.
Healing to you.
But no one seems to think I'm as crazy as I do. I will say that Wes was bipolar and would get upset and I'd calm him down. That made him seem attractive.
