I am getting tired of being alone---having no friends. I am sooo bummed right now cause of being home again on a weekend. No one calls me to see if I am okay or if I want to do something. I end up calling people who say they are my friends to see if they want to do something.,
Am I alone with this?

I am home recovering from a long illness, so it's been a while since I have been able to get out much. But, it sounds like you could really use some new friends! Could you join a church group or take a class or attend a 12 step group... or anything else where you could meet people with similar interests? Do you have a dog or could you walk someone else's dog once in a while? There is something magical about a friendly dog that just seems to break the ice.
Peace...

After spending a good amount of time feeling sorry for myself about this (oh yeah, poor me!), have been refocusing social needs on the needs of others. I find even little ways to help neighbors, volunteering for things like Meals on Wheels, or YWCA etc., is a way to connect to the world. It's not all about having folks to do recreational stuff with.
Sometimes when we feel like we are being forgotten, we need to look for those who are more forgotten than ourselves. Really don't mean for this is sound preachy,. You certainly have the strength and sensitivity many other people would love to connect with. Maybe redefine what it means to have something social to do. At minimum it can provide a nice bridge for you to move forward in your life. Here's one link: http://www.volunteermatch.org
The best to you.
