I don't do phones well. There are three people I will talk to at any time and one more if I have the emotional energy.
For the last couple of years my daughter has just been this huge source of drama... I thought it was over when she moved out, but that just made the drama happen over the phone with her in tears... not something I cope with well.
Right now she is driving up to stay with us until we get the house packed - and I could really use the help. With her she will bring 23 year old kid drama... but hubby pointed out to me that I can take the drama in little bits in person so much better than in lumps over the phone.
This means I get my second best friend back... the first one is my hubby, but my daughter is a very close second!!!
Her time away has gotten her head mostly screwed back on correctly, so the drama should be at a minimum - and if not, she can go live with her grandma again.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Given the nasties of my own childhood, the further I get from it, the happier I am. Don't Youthenize me!!! I LIKE being 60. 23 was still not far enough from it for me. That is still in the high drama years. Be gentle and tolerant with her. With yourself, too.
From the time she was 8 years old she had to be grown up enough to protect me when we were out in public and I would over stimulate. When she was 13 and I broke my back, she took care of the house and animals alone while hubby sat by my side at the hospital for two weeks until we could get someone to stay with her.
Years of helping me, especially when we were helping run a Renaissance Faire put in charge of things that seemed way beyond her years... by the time she was 15 she was running one side of the gate with 8 people working under her - most of them in their 20s.
She has grown up very strong and capable, but with very poor self-esteem. The poor self esteem shows in her choices of boyfriends...
A few years ago I managed to send her to Europe with a group of teens (she was 20 so still considered one of the kids and not a chaperon) and they did 7 countries in a backpacking trip. When her sub-group thought it was fun to ditch her at 8pm in Prague, my kid just shrugged it off, watched a street concert, found someone who spoke enough English to find out where the hostel was, and walked there by herself.
Other than her choices in men, I could not be prouder of my baby...

big breaths, feel the happy, and just remember, she tells you her problems.... it is a compliment even if it is dramaprone!
