It's been a long time since I have been to this website. I have been better for about a year and a half. Now I fear that I am going downhill. Lately I have been having more and more anxiety attacks. I have had the urge to self harm again, yet I do not feel like I am really depressed. Does that make sense? I had a dream last night and my uncle was there at a family gathering. He sexually abused me when I was younger. I do not understand why all of the sudden I am being bothered with all of this again. It scares me. I try to just ignore it, but it is not that easy. I do not know what to do.

I have found for myself that until I was most of the way through the healing process the dreams remained. The fear remained. The anxiety and panic remained... I worked with a therapist, and still am working with her, in order to heal from the sexual abuse I endured as a child. I blocked out my memories and only started to remember 3 years ago. Over the past 3 years I have worked hard to heal from all that was done and I have been successful. I have learned that once you allow yourself to feel all the horrible feelings from the abuse, they become processed and you can move on without any further issues. This is making me feel that perhaps you didn't work through everything just yet and it's showing up now so you can work through it.
Do you have a therapist who can help you with this?
I would suggest that you do not ignore this at all. Tackle it head on so that it does not have the chance to grow into a huge problem that blind sides you.
Focus on your feelings, and turn them elsewhere. Turn self harm thoughts into focus to exercise. Anxiety needs to be looked at to find what is triggering it. It might be a hidden thing that happens hours or even days earlier. But when that anxiety hits, USE the feelings to do something creative.
If you have trouble channeling these thoughts and feelings into positive ones, focus them instead on an ugly throw pillow that you can hit, yell at, and just think nasty thoughts at any time you need.
be safe and nip this in the bud
