Maybe this will help. I did the math and stopped watching the news. The math says it's almost impossible for you to get the virus and even less likely you'll die from it. It's more likely you'll win the lottery and get in a car accident every day for a month than die of Covid-19. Bottom line, there's a 0.000000000001 percent chance you'll get the virus and 0.00000000001 that if you'll get it and die from it. The math is 2000,000 cases worldwide and 1% mortality rate. 200,000 divided by 7 billion people worldwide is the percentage chance you'll get it. That number multiplied by 0.01 is the percentage chance you'll die...that number is almost too small to calculate accurately. I hope this helps a little. I hope you feel safer and more secure.

Hello, Alan101 I totally understand your concerns I work for a medical office and it's really scary right now to go to work every day not knowing who you may encounter who's infected with the virus. If you are not sick I say stay out of the office but people have no regard for this logic and come anyway for a good checkup. My answer is WHY would you do that stay home right now till things get better and only go out for the things you need not want if you know what I mean.

Alan101 - I have been doing the same math. This virus is not worth our constitution. The chance of getting this virus is incredibly small. You have a greater chance of being killed on the way to the hospital than dying of this virus.

I've had both pneumonia and pleurisy. Pleurisy is scabs on the sack of the lungs that crack open every time you breathe deeply or, God forbid, cough or laugh. So all of this talk about COVID-19 as another respiratory illness has me remembering how miserable those two episodes were. On the other hand, I tell myself by the same token that I'm hard to kill, always have been.

The rebel who threw the car bomb that hit my family car when I was 9 during the civil war couldn't do it. The military officer who tried twice when I was 1`5 living under dictatorship in South America couldn't do it. PTSD couldn't do it.
Kidney disease to the point of dialysis couldn't do it. Pneumonia couldn't do it. Pleurisy couldn't do it.

So COVID-19, get in line. Many have tried, and I'm still here.

This is going to get worse before it gets better unfortunately..... I was sick a while ago and couldn't be tested as there were no test kits.... A lot more people have it that haven't been diagnosed... I wouldn't take a cavalier attitude about this virus.....

Please be safe... Practice social distancing and practice really good handwashing for at least 20 seconds

I am high risk as well.... There are over half a million cases now that have been diagnosed.....and I'm sure more then that.... Big hugs for everyone....xo
