Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Support Group
Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a progressive, genetic disorder of the kidneys. It occurs in humans and other organisms. PKD is characterised by the presence of multiple cysts (polycystic) in both kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and rarely the heart and brain.
water is your best bet as a beverage of choice, with or without lemon or lime but no sugar or artificial sweeteners.
fruits & veggies are best in their natural form, including the fiber. juicing removes most of that.
Fruit juice is bad for your liver because of the sugar (whole fruit is digested differently with the fibre). It causes fatty liver - not something we need to accompany any liver cysts! An ingredient in grapefruit is being investigated as being helpful for cysts but will probably need to be in pill form to gain a high enough concentration. Grapefruit fights some medications so needs so be eaten with care. The best thing to do if you want to stay healthy is eat plenty of whole fresh fruit and vegetables rather than juicing them. Too much of some veggies like spinach can leach imprortant minerals from your body. It's easier to overdose on veg juices but harder to eat too much spinach!
The best diet changes to make are increase water intake and avoid sodium and caffeine. These measures will go a long way to helping you stay healthy.

we all know that he who is his own doctor has a fool for a patient.
be careful of any "detox", kidneys are detoxifying organs and if they function well you don't need chemical detoxes.
we all wish there were a magic bullet to make cysts go away. so far the best that can be done is to slow or stop the growth.
