Hello everyone, my name is Norma and I've not been on Daily Strength for quite a while now, probably almost a year. I've been very depressed as my kidney function was dropping fast, a trend had definitely begun and my kidney doctor wanted to begin preparations for dialysis. First of all, I am old, I am almost 70 years old and have lived with PKD and it's symptoms since I was about 38 with brain aneurysums, hernia surgeries, you guys know the drill, I had it all.
My brother also has PKD and he was preparing for a transplant, his GFR was 10 and his creatinine was just over 8. His wife was going to be his donor, but due to health issues, medicare wasn't very interested in using her at all. So she began a quest to find something that would help her husband. little did she know that what she had found increased his kidney function as well as lower his creatinine level down to 2, all of this in a year and a half,
I couldn't help but be impressed, and I wanted to take whatever my brother was taking as well and I did. In just over 4 months my GFR has increased to 45 previously it was 22. Creatinine level was 2.8, it is now 1.4. My kidney doctor said that I am considered "stable" and not to come back for 6 months. I know you are wanting to know what he said about the meds I was taking, but I didn't tell him, I wanted to wait as I knew he would poo poo me away just as my brother's kidney doctor did. So I have decided to wait the six months and then I will tell him what I have been doing.
I am going to tell you what I am taking because I think that everyone should have this opportunity, if they want it that is. It is a natural, herbal substance from Essential Oils, an herbal company and I was taking something called K & B essential oil. The main ingredient is an oil from Juniper berry bushes as they have been proven to help kidney and bladder function for years and years. Those are the facts and I want you to consider it just that, the facts that have affected myself and my brother. I asked my local pharmacy to take a look at them and see if they would interfere with any of the prescription meds that I am taking and they said no, they wouldn't harm me in any way.
Iam trying to think of any other questions you all my want to ask me and I can't think of anything else. My whole family has PKD, all of my children have PKD, it is a nasty disease and one I have lived with all of my life. I feel as if finally I may have a future without dialysis, but I am not sure of this at all. All I know is that my brother took it with great results and I have taken it with great results. They are drops and taste really bad, but I put them in some juice and drink them every morning. I am telling you all this because I feel that everyone should have this opportunity, if it is the right thing for you. No one really knows that. All I know is they are herbal meds and that they worked for my brother and myself. You can google them yourselves, K & B Essential oils. Too good to be true you say? Maybe so, but it is true.
lots of love,
Norma...
