I was called a Ten year old by someone on DS

I was sexually abused. My abuse started at age 13 when my bra was snapped every damn day. I then quit wearing bras so the perp couldn't snap them. I take offense to being called a child because I WAS abused.

I heard from a therapist in outpatient that you are the age that you were when you were molested or abused. I can't help I don't emotionally know how to act my age. I like miley cyrus's music I think she has an amazing voice and because I want to dance to DDR hannah montana songs and I admitted that I danced to hannah montana on the bipolar board I got called a child. What is this world coming to these days believe me I put the person who called me a ten year old on ignore. It offended me....so should I report them too?

I was also emotionally abused at age 13 was told that I would never ever amount to anything. And because I couldn't clean like my mom liked I got called a failure every damn day.

I WAS ABUSED! I can't help the fact that I am emotionally numb.

I don't know the context you were called a child in, but whatever was said and how ever it was meant, I'm sorry you feel so horrible and hurt by it. No one should have to feel like that on DS. I hope you can find a good group of friends here who can help you come to terms with your abuse.
But I still think hanna montanna sucks! :)

It is true we stop maturing emotionally when abuse starts, my dad stapped my bra strap, I remember hating it and I was abuse since i can recall, but you can mature emotionally again to catch up, with counseling, I am not sure it works all the time for everyone who wants it to. But nobody should call names and you can like and watch whatever you want, and there is nothing wrong with having the child inside come out to play sometimes..I call that a stress reliever and FUN..We tend to get really goofy here at home sometimes LOL..whatever keeps you happy:)

I am really sry that u had to endure all that at such a fragile age. I was in a physically abusive relationship for a while but I wised up and got out. U kno what, there is nothing wrong with liking Miley Cryus. I love her music as well. People that call you a child and try to degrade you...they do that because they hate themselves and take it out on others. Keep ya head up hun.

Thanks everyone! I jam to miley cyrus......I guess my topic was Dance Dance Revolution and I asked who used it for weight loss as I wanted to try it because I hated the wii fit because you have scores and if you can't beat the scores on the list than you don't qualify for the high caloric burn and I am trying to loose weight I mentioned that I want to buy the disney version of dance dance revolution for the PS 2 and admitted in the same post that I dance and sing to miley cyrus while cleaning. My favorite songs are see you again, 7 things, let's get crazy, let's do this, and much more.
I been listening to her music a lot lately and then I got called a child shortly after my post and admitting I liked miley cyrus.....

Maybe I am a little child like. I wanna get a hannah montana lunch pail to keep my stuff in when I go to college this fall. I also thought about getting a back pack too. But I don't wear hannah montanna t-shirts......I have some taylor swift t-shirts I wear. I also like taylor swift.... I don't think getting hannah montana gear is a little child like.....I talked about another post a while back about miley cyrus shoes that I wanted to get because I liked them they are women's shoes they are leopard print. And I am gonna get a regular pair with a stone heart on the side.....I guess they called me a child because I am obsessed. But I am sure there are other adult women out there who will buy those exact same shoes I was talkin about.

I am so sorry what you have been through. I think it is terrible that someone would call you a child. Are you sure they meant it in a mean way? If so that's not right. This is supposed to be a place we can all come to for support and encouragement, we get enough crap from others in our lives without getting it here too. It says in the rules that people are supposed to be nice and positive. I'd hate to report anyone, but if you know for sure they were being hateful, maybe you should. that is up to you though, that is your call. Good luck

hey princess - i feel sorry for those that dont understand that something as simple as dancing can make us happy and make us feel free - try to ignore such ppl i believe they miss out alot on life - hold your head high turn up the volume and never stop dancing ... all my besst jd :-)

I don't know why people feel a need to attack others on a forum. It might be a good idea to "ignore" that person because obviously he/she is not being supportive... use the "ignore" option under their avatar.

I also like DDR (even though I stink!) and sometimes like "teenage" music. And I used to put money in a cute piggy bank for toddlers until I had to flee my house. I also like to color with crayons and do other "childish" things.

I don't think that is ANYthing to be ashamed of or unhappy about! Part of it is therapeutic to be in a safe environment now...

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
