Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I said in my first post that "something" had happened that made me start to plan to leave. I now remember that I went to the shelf to get a steel wool pad ( Brillo). The box wasn't there. I have a brain injury and don't remember things well, but I was sure I hadn't run out. I was sure he had thrown the box out.
He mentioned a stain on some dish, just now and I said "I"m sure I had a box of Brillo, but it's gone" He said "I threw it out. I told you years ago it doesn't belong in a residential kitchen. You've ruined that frying pan, and scrubbed the sink with it. You ruin everything. If you buy another box, I'll throw it out. I Will Not allow it in this house."
With my head injury I don't think quickly to answer this type of attack, but would love to say something. My social worker says he's the most controlling man she's ever seen. I have known he's controlling, but am at a loss as to how to answer him. Grrr..

By the time I left him I hated fish so much. Now, I buy the frozen pre-crumbed kind that I wasn't allowed to before because it wasn't "fresh." Over the years since I left, I've come to love fish and eat it heaps! It tastes so much better when it's recently bought and someone else puts the breadcrumbs on it! And it doesn't cost thousands of dollars a year!
I never realised how many of the things I hated were entirely because of him.
By the way, I keep my brillo pads under the sink too. I wonder what your husband would think about how I once used industrial acid to clean the grout...
Holly I bet half of your bad memory isn't actually bad memory at all but just your husband confusing you to make you think you need him.
