Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Deb
and i would definitely join a group for adult survivors of childhood abuse!
I used to joke to others that i married my mother. But it wasn't funny. Not even a little bit. My mom was (and is) narcissistic and abusive, verbally, emotionally and physically. It drained the life out of me as a child and she still succeeds at times even now. My X was the male mirror image of my mother. I have had stolen, the first sixteen years of my potential to be something good. Then I gave away my potential to an abusive Bastard for another 15 because i didn't know any other way to be treated.
Yes! How does one start a community here?
As we get older, we try to fill this void by seeking other people who we think can "heal" us in some way.
But in order to truly heal we need to seek our higher power, whomever and whatever that may be.
I was physically and emotionally abused by my father and sister during my foundational years. Even to this day, I can hear my fathers voice and the power they still hold over me.
Putting everything into the glass jar really helps me acknowledge who these negative feelings come from, however I still believe them in some ways.
How can I not? I have been hearing him for 28 years of my life? I hope to no longer take ownership of these voices and put them where they belong.
i also do not think the two groups overlap completely. i am not currently in an abusive relationship, or ANY for that matter.
i think they are two separate yet connected entities that could be helped more by two separate communities
