Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.
where do you start ? The pain is just unbearable. everywhere i look he is there. i imagine i see and hear him. i feel so alone now. i am tormented as to where i have sent him, i decided his destiny and i am tortured by having to end his life.
i tried everything but he was suffering, it just hurts so much.
i wish i could believe that he is somewhere better, the pain gone and him being able to run about like he used to.
we spent so much time together, the space on my bed is empty. my room feels cold.
i know that this pain will one day ease but in some ways i dont want it to. i dont want to forget him but looking at his belongings just kills me. i was thinking of giving all his toys to local dog shelter, the same one where i got him but then i feel disloyal.
he is such a wonderful dog and i love him so much.
