Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.
I lost my little scooty yesterday morning, it was his time. he had some qual of life in him yet but i saw changes past week and knew his body shutting down. he still ate some, made it to potty but laying more still alert head up but i knew.. i lost his sister and bro last yr to kidney disease.. scooty had multiple things going on for 6 months ... such good kitty. how he cared for his brother snook last yr when he got sick his last week.s scooty washed his face laid with him to comfort him... cared protective for his oldest brother.. so touching to witness him doing this. I held him... i have for all of mine i have let go over rainbow bridge.. but one who was at vet office on IV hoping to help him... he passed over night with out me...but al the others lot of others i have held and let go before suffered ... when i see qual of life slipping away... just like Scooty, he came to eat , just not much. He still followed me but not as peppy or with same energy which is fine for kitty 14 yrs old.. but, that was what i saw on out side i knew felt worse in side.. by time we see pets failing, they have had issues in side that they hide from us.. then some times to late. Miss him so much.. i have two brothers left of the five siblings i rescued.. bottle fed and loved so much. all five tuxcedo kitties.. ( black with white at necks or bellies too ) sweet cats all of them.. with no family left at all, my cats are every thing to me. Had ten when i moved here now 3 left. this is seven in less than five yrs. first four age related when passing, 18 1/2 - 20 yrs old.. then last yr youngest their sister and oldest brother to scooty passed with in months of each other.. now Scooty is gone. so cece and fluffy bear are left with one more rescue Cody.. Scooty shy one week of 14th b';day to me he made it... Cody is 11 end of month. I am in early 70's and for first time, only 3 cats no little ones coming along to replace older ones...not sure if i will get more or not. some times looking ahead need to think what my needs may be to care for them or have to give them up down road cuz of my health which would do me in. I pray each day my last breath be when my last cat is gone... i have had good life made very special from some awesome kitties who chose to love me and have me as their human mama.... rest in peace little buddy scooty...mama misses u sooo very much but you are running free now... snook and precious met you i know run to play with all the others that passed that way before.. I loved you so very much i had to make decision to let you go so u could pass in peace before you got worse. so hard to do but knew i had to... because i loved you so much for loving me .....

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

It is amazing how they love us. I have had kitties Muffin and Tabby, shih tzu's,Siberian huskies and still my heart pitter patters for a Boston terrier to love and own, They love unconditional and their love never ends even though they are no longer chasing behind our heels for the next treat or moment of fun, They obediently wait on their rainbow bridge proudly (as we taught them) waiting to reunite with us as well Hugs to you,What a beautiful love affair we have had with them and to us with a Meow or a Bark they say:Job well done! <3.
