Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.

My Little Angel Has Cancer - few months left

I spent the entire day crying. I have had my cat for the past 10 years and he has been my one constant. I love him more than words can say and can't imagine life without him. The vet thinks he has a tumor in his mouth and that is the cause of the massive infection. The poor little guy's eye has been dripping with all kinds of gunk. It's painful to watch. She says he may have a few months. I am just so sad and want to prepare myself... so here I am. I am so sorry for all of your losses. Thanks in advance.

I'm very sorry to hear this news.The ONLY thing good about this is that you have time to spend with him now-to say your goodbyes..
I know it isn't easy-but you may not want to wait those months so he won't suffer..

I am so sad to hear of another of our loved pets being deathly sick....so sad...I hope you are able to do things to help this kitty enjoy what little time is left....hugs bill

Enjoy the time that you have with him. I did that with my dog, who passed away last week. He had a tumor and his spleen removed in August and we were so hopeful that was the last of the cancer, but since it had already bled into his abdomen, the tumors spread. They started growing and bleeding again in October. We spent another month together, trying to do all the things he loved and eating his favorite foods. At the end, I was getting ready to take him into the vet to be put to sleep because his belly was so swollen with blood, but he passed away on his own. Be prepared to make the tough decision, but take your cues from your cat. That's what I did. As long as he seemed happy, we kept going. It was only after he stopped eating and became very uncomfortably did I start considering other options. Prepare yourself, but try not to dwell on it so much that you can't enjoy the time you have with him. That's easier said than done, I know. I completely understand what you're going through. Hugs.

sprite I am sorry you too lost your buddy....that is so sad that he could not get recovered from the cancer but that is the nature of cancer...it is incurable in most cases and it is killer.....sorry

I am so sorry youre going through this. Your poor baby. I know how it is, not being able to imagine life without him. All you can do is hold onto the positives, and they are big: 1) You gave him a wonderful, happy life, where he has felt love and security every single day; 2) You got to experience 10 years with this amazing little miraculous being; and 3) you will get through it. It wont be easy, but you will.

    So mad at Xfinity!  They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today!  Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...
