An invalidating environment can be not ill intended sometimes.
Controlling parents or parents who don't let their children feel or deal with their emotions can do it.
Narcissistic parents too.
I don't think changing the name will lessen the stigma. I think it will be the same.
i wouldnt be nearly as open about my illness if i had to say i had emotionaly unstable disorder.
because im not always emotionaly unstable. also it doesnt describe everything that we deal wtih we deal with more than mood instibiulity.
and emotional instablity. we also suffer from bridge bnurning, dissociaion depersonaization etc. the list goes on i dont know them all but i know its alot more than just mood instability. i agree that borderlies have a bad rap thas why i said there no way i ahve that.
