My daughter is 7 she did some play therapy which was not as helpful as i had hoped and we switched to parent child interactive therapy followed by some work 1 on 1 with a trauma specialist. No there was no harm behaviors. She did initially show signs of ptsd which over time in therapy improved and now she seems like every othet child. I believe she suppressed the memory so i dont know as she gets older if things will change. Ive done everything i can to help her but time will tell. Praying your son benefits from therapy and is able to really embrace the healing journey.

I am specifically looking to communicate with those moms who can share the experiences of the infant/toddler abuse no matter the time frame. TOO MANY VOICES in this room who are speaking unnecessarily. It is confusing to me. I am willing to hear waht moms have to say in the same situation. It is specifically and only why i am here. Very well said everyone.I think when we first learn of the abuse we are looking for others in our same situation to bond with.But if you limit yourself to only those in your exact situation you loose so much insight.Those of us with older children can share what worked and what didn't.You are in a position to help others going through it right now,you can think back and share things you should have done or things that worked.My daughter is 13 and it helps so much to read the posts from parents with older children,I learn from their experiences and can nip any problems in the bud,please don't limit yourself to ALL resources and wisdom here,some are in the trenches,some are out,but all of the stories here are helpful.But most importantly we support each other and have a common bond,I can't tell you how many times I prayed to go to sleep and not wake up,the wonderful people here keep me going!

InnocenceStolen, you say you are specifically and only here to gleen info related to infant/toddler sexual abuse. That info is available on many other sites that are not a support group. This support group has been here for close to 20 yrs in the current format, which is asking questions, venting, offering information, giving support, sharing experiences, finding comradery, giving virtual hugs if needed, even a means of social activity for some who feel it difficult to engage in the outside world for any number of reasons, for any parent experiencing the trauma that is childhood sexual abuse. There have even been a couple people here who were abused as children and are now adults, but had no children who were victims. If you are looking for a more restrictive format, perhaps you can start your own group where you can set the guidelines for posting and commenting, and those who feel inclined to participate will do so. It seems you do not have a need for most of what this group offers and is about at this particular time in your process. If at some point you feel you can benefit from what we have here, please join in and share what you feel comfortable with. I'm not trying to dismiss your concerns or needs, actually I'm trying to more accurately address them while still keeping to how this group has functioned for it's members. We are here for you if you need what we have to give, but we can't be constrained by dictates that limit members' involvements. The nature of the group is to share and connect, by giving and taking...

Typically, that's what newcomers do...share their story. I know I personally would be able to be more vulnerable with you if you were more transparent with me.

Also, what is the FMRI that you asked about?

I'm willing to answer any specific questions you have in regards to my kid's abuse but you MIGHT find more answers just going and reading all my posts about my situation...there are a lot! Trust is key in building a support system in this online forum. I'm sorry that you have the need to search for answers here due to your son being abused. None if us ever wanted to be a part of this "club" no matter the age of our children!

To those trying to steady themselves in the whirlwind of that revolving door, InnocenceStolen's sudden departure reminds me of the first time I attended Al-Anon in an effort to understand my daughter's substance abuse. I stood and sobbed quietly and uncontrollably for an hour as I listened to others tell their stories. I simply could not believe I was there -- that I had a REASON to be there. It took another year before I returned and became a regular participant, and a source of support for other newcomers and longtime members.

Disclosure is only the first step of a long and painful process of recovery. My heart goes out to "InSto," because it's shocking all over again to realize how persistent the dysfunction of unaddressed abuse can be. I really hope that her son is able to find good therapy somewhere in the legal process he now seems to be caught in cyclically. I also hope she will find therapy of her own, even if she had already been through it years ago. We don't/can't break free from a cycle of karma until we become aware of it. Consciousness is the start of change.

At times in recent years I have been so shocked by new truths that I almost literally felt blinded, and my verbal brain shut down to the point that I have been temporarily unable to express any thoughts as a result. I sense that is the state of overwhelm in which InSto found herself when she turned to this site looking for only one source of information to help her better understand what she specifically needed to hear. I'm so sorry that she leaves in pain, full of a sense of chaos. I hope she will return, and release some of that pain, and learn to trust that she is not alone.

Hi Everyone! I have been offline for several weeks because we travelled to a place with no Internet connection with the kids. Lovely! I feel there is something weird about the way InnocenceLost is expressing her(or his)self. First the restrictive initial post and then the "farewell" saying things only get worse with time (something really hurtful for all of us parents of victims, as well as WRONG, since time does heal, if our children are properly and timely treated). Why does she/he not talk from the perspective of her/his son being already 18? Why focusing so insistently on toddlers and babies? Innocence, if you are reading my answer, please know that my boys were abused from 1-2 years old, to 4 years old. But I would not, honestly, open up with a person with your attitude. Anger does not heal, and maybe your child is feeling your anger everyday, as I did feel your anger (and even aggressiveness) in this thread.

There was a 1st post inquiring specifically about children who had been molested and were now 18 or older. This was the 1st post written. It DID put this 2nd post into a bit more perspective however the fact that no back story was shared is what's been making me hesitant to openly answer questions.

Right, Warrior…. another thing is that InnocenceLost does not exist as a member (at least with that name) any longer. I felt his/her tone was really abusive (verbally abusing), treating all of us as suspects and asking a lot, while offering nothing. Let us see what he/she does in the future (and let us beware…. I still feel hesitant)
