I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's relapse. I hope that the counselor will be able to help with her PTSD symptoms. They can be every hard to deal with (my daughter and I have both been diagnosed) and we still struggle with managing at times. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Oh Mommakl, I am so sorry and greatful that she is OK. I guess there are going to be some steps backwards and some forward. The disclosure is pretty new, so Im sure her emotions are all over the place. I wish I could give her a picture of my brothers life, she would never do a drug again! I so worry about my girls and self medicating too! Im sure its unbearable at times living with the pain. Its unbearable watching someone you love in so much pain. Hang in there. I've been watching a show called Celebrity Rehab which has taught me a lot about what all is involved in addiction and in withdrawal, and especially in trying to face and handle emotions without drugs. It's so incredibly involved--developmental stages that were slowed or halted because of drug use need to be faced and walked thru in a safe way, etc. I hope and pray your daughter will soon be able to turn to healthy, positive people and activities for support and healing. Thank you all for the support. Today was better, counseling does help. Today we did "paint therapy" and painted a picture while we talked. It helps. All I can do is love her through it. I have been dealing with the drugs/alcohol for 10 years and I have to remember that she is an addict and her first instinct will be to go to unhealthy things to stuff the feelings down. I blame her two molesters for all of it!!!!
Bandmom I love love love Celebrity rehab. I have watched every episode every season. I asked her to please watch it and she agrees that she will. Sad that many of the celebrities reveal the abuse that has caused their addictions. That is very brave to tell the public.
She starts a writing class next week. She has always expressed her pain in her poetry and writing. One day her story will help other children.
