This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
I'm going to post a message to all family members who think that a survivor should just get over what they went through. Understand where this message comes from, I'm a partner to a Sexual Chilhood Abuse Survivor...
My wife was sexual abused by her brother who is 7 years older then her... I've witnessed, lived and tried my best to be be there for my wife and family. However most of you here don't understand the ramifications what Sexual Childhood Abuse really does to a victim/survivor. Please understand that I've witnessed first hand how family tries to just sweep under the carpet Sexual Childhood Abuse. This is by far the worst thing that can be done for a victim/survior. they never get over what happened to them as an innocent child.
I've seen so many posts here which try and minamize what a victim/survivor have to deal with. I'm here to tell you that regardless of how we try and just think that they should be able to move on, they never can just move on. They have had their life stripped away from them. They NEVER can get over having their their childood taken from them. The worst thing that we sometimes do is try and tell them that what they endured is not that big a deal !!! Each and everyone of these poor victims, have lived and now must try and make sense of something that is uncomprehesnible. They try the best they can to just put it behind them because that is what they are told to do, but it doesn't work... They have done nothing wrong but and are always told to try their best and "make nice" with family who has abused them.
I'm here to tell you that there are MONSTERS IN OUR FAMILIES WHO NEED TO HELP ACCOUNTABLE for the crimes they commit aganist our love ones. Don't try and tell out victims/survivors need to just get over what they went through. I'm here to tell you that is the most drastic mistake we can make as as a loving caring person who wants nothing but the best for ou survior/victim.....

I know what you mean about that damn pot. I appreciate you all here so much and I will tell my wife about you're post. She has never been one to get on the computer, she has talked on the phone to survivors before and will be happy to talk to any of children here if they want to pick up the phone. I've never read that book "A boy called IT" but I'm going to.
