I am at a crossroads of sorts and don't know where to go from here or what to do. I feel that because I believe nothing is happening currently (there is not a chance for anything to happen - I have not let the kids out of my sight) and because the potential perpetrator (their father whom we still are living with) is on his best behavior, I and everyone else in this house are being lulled into a false sense of security. That is a dangerous place to be. Kids ADORE him right now as he can do no wrong and is being extra attentive and nice. I have exhausted the forensic psychologist for now as she said that the children did not disclose (in the one session they each had where she actually tried to get them to disclose) and she didn't want to push them, so I have to wait for another disclosure if there is ever one, but I can't ask or say anything else or they might shut down and not ever disclose?! It's maddening!! I am looking into another play therapist for them, in hopes that they might disclose there, but am worried that by doing this, I am going to traumatize them?! My husband is getting VERY angry at me for not believing in him. Our relationship is so strained and toxic. But the psychologist said to try and keep things normal at home or the tension can be another reason my children might shut down and not disclose! I have started going to a Celebrate Recovery group to try to help with all of my emotions, but what about my kids?! I am so *$%@ing lost. I am about to call a detective that was assigned to my case as I did file a police report (wrote down everything on Feb. 14 - has it been that long?!) along with calling CPS. I never heard from them. I'm not sure if it's because CPS investigated and closed our case, but I will see if anything can be done by going that route. Anyway, just venting. Thanks for all of you and this group. This is the most isolating thing I've ever been through. The friends that I told what was happening to, have quit reaching out to me. There is no immediate crisis that is apparent to anyone but me! Another thing is I've caught my 6 year old daughter sticking a mermaid bath toy w/ the tail broken off into or around her vagina. Didn't see her sticking it in, but I think she was attempting to. This has happened twice in the past couple of weeks (after second time it went in the trash). Is this normal?! Also, my husband, after hearing that our 3 year old disclosed to forensic psychologist last week that he touched son's bottom with a stick (but unfortunately followed this with some nonsensical story), said "well, I touched his butt with the hockey stick jokingly about 3 or 4 months ago when we were playing outside." This is a new story. He was asked by CPS if he ever touched his butt with a stick. You would think he would have said that then. Seems like he's thought of a good story for WHY my son would say this! But when he disclosed to me that daddy licked his butt and touched it with a stick in the bedroom while I was at the store and 6 year old daughter was in her room, it sure didn't sound like a joking hockey stick poke on the bottom was the reason for saying all of this! Sorry for being all over the place. I am using this forum to get my thoughts out, but also, hopefully a safe place to document things that have / are happening. :-(
