Pediatrician says constipation....

What do I do? I go in for the daughter who is 9 to see the pediatrician Well the urologist says constipation so I told the pediatrician about the urologists results. The pediatrician starts treating her for constipation and when I go in and ask why her pee pee still itches and burns when she pees he says it is related to her constipation and is solely caused by that. Is this true? I am beginning to think my daughter's pediatrician is a quack because When I asked him if he seen the rash on my daughter's vagina and told him that's what I thought was causing the itchy burning sensation he said no but it does look a little red and sore. So if it's not a rash then what is it?? They gave me samples of aveeno baby diaper rash so they must think she has a rash down there like i saw as well. What a quack. Gosh the primary care docs around here don't know what they're doing I swear......anyway I need to know if what my daughter's pediatrician says about the constipation and pee pee issues is true.

I'm not a doctor. But from my experience and from having girls of my own. If there is a red itchiung rash down there its a yeast infection. It has nothin to do with constipation. Which if it is a yeast infection its easily cured with a cream like lotrimin or clotrimizole. This cream can be put on the vaginal area and in. But i would just make sure that ur child isnt allergic to any of the ingredients in it 1st. Its somethin u can purchase easily enough over the counter. Its actually found normally in the aisle with foot stuff. B/c that cream also cures athletes foot. But make no doubt about it if she does have a yeast infection this will cure it in just a matter of a few days.

Your daughter has yeast infection or she has a bladder infection because it burns when you go to the bathroom. I would get creme for the yeast infection if that works that is what she has. Just be careful because if you don't wash your hands after putting the cream on her rash you can catch from her.

Okay. When she bathes she must towel dry extremely well. You can put cornstarch powder down there without fear - but no powder with talc as it supposedly can cause cervical cancer. Just natural stuff, which is inexpensive too. And then the cream maybe only once a day.

She needs cotton underwear too, and to change them whenever wet.

As for constipation, that is a tough one. I know both vaginal infections and constipation can be caused by not drinking enough WATER. So this is a good excuse for her to drink a lot of water, but not too much.

i will go pick up some of that cream today and make her drink more water. She doesn't like water but I will try to be a stickler about it more than i already am. She also has stomach pains and stomach problems caused by the constipation I am sure. I will tell the hubby that she can get a yeast infection from not drinking enough water.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
