poop training....

My DD has been "pee trained" asside from nap/bedtime for about 6 months. Happened just after she turned two, pretty easily. Poop has been a battle. She has gone on the potty maybe 10-15 times in the last 5 months...but saves it for nap/morning time in her bed....it happens whether we put a pull up, diaper, or undies on her. We have given her rewards, treats, used sticker charts, gotten prizes. She did it yesterday and was sooo proud of herself.Today, in her daper again (we wear diaper for nap, far less messy since she WILL GO in undies too).... HELP....at a loss.

When she poops in her panties what do you do with it? Do you put the poop in the potty then get her to sit on the potty with the poop in the bowl? That's how we got our daughter to put two and two together. And she was pee and poop trained within two weeks of each other. I have also been told having them help you clean the underwear helps but we never had to do that so I can't say if it really does or not :) Good luck!

My DD did that too at first. Always pooped at nap time when the pull up went on. She got it eventually. I always had her watch as I dumped the poop out of her pullup and into the toilet and would explain every time that poop goes in the potty just like pee. We also had a sticker potty chart. One side for pee with a small smily face sticker when she peed but the other side for poppy and those stickers were bigger/more exciting stickers ie: sparkly princess stickers. That worked well too. I am on the same boat with my 29 mnth old daughter. Even when she was a baby she didn't like to get wiped up when she had poop. When she was walking around 11 mnths she would run away when I noticed she had a poop and in the months to follow she would get stiff and throw tantrums when I asked her if she had any poop in her pull up or diaper. Now that she's in underwear (for the past 3 mnths) she pees fine in her potty and even tells me that she has to pee, but still refuses to tell me when she has to poop and continues to poop in her underwear. I tell her to at least tell mommy when she has to poop so I can change her into a pull up (I show her the mess it makes in her underwear, put the poop inside the potty, wipe her standing up, and sit her on the potty to finish --- which she hardly ever does). She is now more comfortable with me wiping her up (she doesn't throw tantrums and doesn't seem as embarrased or upset when I do have to wipe her up, but she's still making poop in her underwear).
We are encouraging her to use her words, to make poo and pee on the potty, read her books to keep potty time fun and engaging if she does have to sit for a while...and she's only pooped in the potty a handful of times. I too was giving her stickers that she would put on her potty to decorate it when we were starting, but she lost interest.
