My daughter too has strayed from Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montanna...and has moved on to other artists, and kid shows. I don't know what kind of band Nickleback is nor have i ever heard their music. I say as long as it's clean then you shouldn't worry.

I think it's completely normal.My nephew has listened to Nickelback for a years(he's almost 7).His music taste ranges form Noggin songs,to Lady Gaga,Soulja Boy,and All American Rejects. I think that as long as she understands it's just words and the edited versions are used it's okay. I think at a younger age kids are responding to the beat,and sound, rather than the words.

I think their music is terrible-but other than that - they are imo not a bad image for a kid. Just a bunch of white guys singing ballads-so funny that a little kid likes this band!

In general, I just watch out for music that is too sexual or violent in the lyrics and image. We don't need that, let alone little kids.

Miley Cyrus is not actually the best role model, so its a good thing!!! but I do agree with the others kids interests changes a lot very normal.

My big girl was never a fan (8yrs ) my little one is definitely getting away from Miley. She like Lady Gaga and music with more a beat but does like the boy band- the Jonas brothers.

My big one loves All American Rejects and songs that I like to listen to that tend to be older music (90's)
Also they both love Elvis & Micheal Jackson..LOL!

The children likes or dislikes are going to change just as ours do. Personally, I don't listen to different types of music or different artist that I feel are inappropriate for my child's age group: In other words, if a song has words that I do not want to hear him repeat.....it doesn't get played around here.

Keeping it simple for the age.

I am deaf so listening is hard. I have watched Hanna Montana I dont think she is a good role model NOW when she was younger maybe but where do I go from here? I dont allow my child the run or rule of TV or radio because I can't hear it.

IMO, idk that Miley Cyrus is the role model that i want my kids modeling. Since at 1 of her concerts she came out dressed like she was ready to work the corner and had a striper pole. I would hope that my girls aspire to be more in life.

But as for who there listenin to its gonna change. There tastes will change as much as there way of dressin. This is normal. and as longt as u as there parent find it acceptable then i wouldnt worry.
