Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! I'm new to DS and it's made me feel so much better. I started having panic attacks a week ago for the first time in my life. This is all so new to me and it's very hard to cope. I constantly feel like I'm going to have a heart attack or a stroke. My muscles cramp up, I get twitching on my muscles and tongue, and my heart rate goes very high.i went to hospital twice in one day and had EKG and blood work done and was told everything was ok. The past 2 days I thought I was getting better until today I started feeling weak and I tried focusing on working and my vision went a little dark and I freaked out bad. I went to the Hospital and they ran an ekg again. My heart was very fast and I felt like I was going to faint. Something I've never ever experienced. They hooked me on IV and I was there for about 2 hours and I was sent home. I've been trying to relax but nothing I do seems to help. I feel so anxious and woozy like I'm going to faint. If anyone has any similar symptoms, I'd like to hear your story. And if anyone has some coping skills or tips, please share. :)

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

You said it started a week ago. Did something stressful happen in your life a week ago? Anything you can think of that may have caused you to feel anxious?
You're going to be okay.
On the non-drug side, I feel for you. Anxiety and panic attacks are scary things. But I agree with other comments. You will be okay. As you develop experience with panic attacks some of the fear will go away. You'll be able to tell the difference between a panic attack and a heart attack.
Let me recommend a book that helped me a lot. It is called the Phobia and Anxiety Workbook by Edmund Bourne. You'll find it on Amazon. It costs $20 and for me was worth $2,000.
Know that you will be okay. Know that all us panic attack sufferers feel for you and wish you the very best. You will make it through this. You will be okay.
I have suffered from them more recently than not. For years I thought that the attacks were under control. Now, they have returned. Have you tried psychotherapy? Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT?). Online support is great as well. I would try to find out what has triggered the attacks! You can then back track from there. I hope that this helps.
I thought I was getting better but this past week has been awful. I’ve gone to the hospital About 4 times due to high BP from the anxiety. I found a therapist and I had my very first session. It helped a lot for that day but the next day was awful again. The panic attacks started after taking LSD. I didn’t realize how stressed I was and how many stressful things were going on in my life the week I took the LSD. It threw me into a really bad panic attack. The twitching on the tongue has stopped a lot so I’ve been able to calm down but now whenever I feel something weird in my body, I start to freak out. I’m constantly checking my BP and pulse. It’s been really hard :/
