Hello everyone, I wanted to finally come here and formally introduce myself and tell everyone a little bit about myself and what brings me here. I live with my parents, my younger brother, his girl friend, and my 3 year old niece who I love more than anything in this world. I am also a student going to college online; I am studying for my bachelors degree in Healthcare Management.
I remember having my first panic attack a couple years ago around Thanksgiving. Me and my mom went to do some last minute shopping for food and stuff. I remember the store being so busy and crowded with last minute shoppers. About 20 minutes or so into the shopping trip I began to feel really strange. I started to feel hot and dizzy and I see people around me talking but I could not hear what they were saying; then I started to feel extremely sick to my stomach. I made my mom take me to the ER where they told me that what I had was a panic attack. Now I think I get the attacks a few times a week sometimes they are bit different each time. Sometimes when I get them I can feel people staring at me like I am some sort of crazy person. I hope I can meet people here who understand what I am going through and I can be a part of the discussion.

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

I can relate to having panic attacks in public places.
My issues are either throat issues and/or breathing issues.
I cannot eat out in restaurants. That's my biggest problem. I figured out recently though that it's not the amount of people.
I was out with a friend and my family recently at a crowded place but it was very informal if you know what I mean. That's the issue, that restaurants are set up "perfectly."
Also it can be though that the place is too small and I hate feeling hot, especially in small places.
I was having issues a while ago where I felt like I couldn't go anywhere. After two weeks of being at home most of the time, I forced myself out and instantly my breathing issues came but it's gotten easier as I have been out the most I ever have in a long time recently.
I went through a stage where I shaked violently and uncontrollably along with my breathing issues. One time the tips of my fingers even turned blue. That was the scariest thing I have ever experienced, apart from the severe breathing problem. One time I thought I was about to stop breathing.
It's only recently where I've been mostly on top of my breathing issue and even stopped a panic attack after it was starting.
I am finally making progress :)
Feel free to contact me via a message about any panic issue.
On one occasion i was stood in the high street hanging on to the wall hoping my legs wouldn't give out and gasping for breath. Can you believe not one person asked if i was ok!
curlyfries, i couldnt eat in front of pple when i was a teen and young adult, years later i learnt it was a social phobia, you might want to google it, i dunno, you may find it helpful.
