Every time I am admitted into the hospital with a CP attack my potassium is really low. Does that happen to anyone else and do you know why it does happen? I take potassium supplements all the time and eat vegies high in potassium (can't eat bananas).

I get a low count a lot of times and the sometimes put me on a potassium drip, which sucks as it can burn like heck :(

That's what they do to me also, but they also use sodium chloride IV along with it so the potassium drip doesn't burn. That's not right that they give you just the potassium drip, because it does burn so much. Shame on them for doing that to you!

I have low potassium all the time too. But not enough to go to the hospital.

I don't have to go into the hospital for low potassium, Destyn. When I go in the hospital for pancreatitis, my potassium is always very low, almost bottomed out at times.

Thank God I have no issues with potassium levels.
