It's been a while since I have posted , but I started with like a lump feeling in my throat about 10 days ago. I went to see my promary and ruled out strep, and he sent me to an ENT and he said possible Acid Reflux is giving me issues. Anyone have similar issues ever?

I have frequent issues with sore throats and have for several years. The best way to tell what's going on is by the appearance of your throat. If you have white stuff all over its a bateria infection (not only strep can cause this). If your throat is clear but red its usually acid reflux. If you have a lot of mucus its probly allergies or viral. I have delt with all of these and found solutions for them all. Good luck.

my ENT told me i most likely had GERDS due to how red my throat was, i guess it has a certian look about it. i thought i had thrush too, but nope it was gerds, ulcerative gastritis, ulcer, now cp. connection absolutely. what meds have you been on in the past could also be an issue. look at the possible side effects, if it says heartburn, gerds, or anything to do with gastro, be careful. take with a full gut.

I currently take 30 mg of prevacid 2 times a day. Different ppi meds work for different people but they all reduce the amount of acid you produce. Then the acid won't reflux and burn your throat. Just don't take any of them within an hour of calcium (supplements or milk) or regular antacids. Most antacids have calcium. My GI told me that if my troat started burning an hour before I take my meds or an hour after I could take the antacid too. I like to use mylanta or the generic because it would coat my throat. Just expirament a little and find out which combo works for you. Don't be afraid to tell your doc if a presciption (or recomended otc) acid doesn't work. It is different for everyone.

Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
