Aww, don't be sad. I know it's easy for me to say don't worry, but try not to worry! I've been where you are, and even worse. I go through spurts where I have loose stools for months at a time. When not totally loose, they will float, etc... I was convinced that it was the worst case scenario. My doctor ordered me a ct scan and I even had tumor marker labs run. Nothing! I go through these episodes where I will feel ok and then not the next. There are lots of things that can cause those symptoms. You've had many tests to rule it out! I trust you are fine and that it's not C. Do keep us updated. Be well.

Thanks TwoBoyz, Ive had the tumor marker elevated a couple times and it comes down at least so far. I sure hope you are right that one of my tests would of detected it. Its just too close to home to possibly have issues with the same organ my dad died from.

I havent been this nervous since my first scope when this all started. Feel like Im living a nightmare, though I know I havent even been dxd with it so it could be a lot worse.

awww hon...I am sure it doesn't help that your father died of the same organ that is affecting you. It is hard not to think the worst. But let us say if just if they would catch it now you have such a great chance of surviving it because you have been on top of it. You can also make yourself more sick by stressing out about it.....I think this consumes you...am I right? Let the drs know that so they can help you with that part. I have a high risk for Pancreatic cancer because of my genetic issue of the pancreas only being born with the head. They told me I have a higher chance. But I don't let it consume me...what am I going to do? I can't stop it....I will have to deal with it as it comes. The dr said doing the tumor marker isn't a guarantee it can give you a false positive as well. Usually there are no signs for pancreatic cancer until it has invaded other organs. That is why this cancer is so hard to cure. Do you have anyone to talk with? Having your father die and being afraid of this cancer is putting you over the edge hon....you need help with this. Yes, I know you are right Diane. I need to go on anti anxietys for this. Its just I feel SO awful now, and I know whatever is going on has progressed, especially since I cant seem to digest food/fat. It doesnt help that I watched my dad die each day so I know what PC looks like.
It does consume me when I am feeling ill, and well that seems to be every day these days wheras it used to come in flares.

My hub has been a great support, and really the key person I depend on. I dont know how he deals with me. I am, as everyone, am not the same fun going person I was before all of this hit

awww hon.....you will get through this....you just need the extra help right now....but talking about it and accepting it is the first step.....watching one's parent die in front of us is the most awful thing we can go through. I watched both of mine suffer a slow death as well. I still have issues about it....it is hard to get over..I am on anti anxiety med as well as antidepressant. My dad had his leg amputated and my mom had a severe stroke one week after my dad has his amputation and had to put both of them in the nursing home...and clean out their home...so sad. My heart goes out to you....I am glad your husband is a great support for you....I think that is why you are still able to function somewhat. But the dr needs to do something about your malnutrition for the time being too...always here for you. Saying a prayer for you hon. Hugs!

My grandmother died from Pancreatic cancer also. So I have the same fears you have, but at this point I'm fairly well. My fiance says I'm too negative and worry too much. It's very hard not to. I hope the day goes by fast for you so you can get your results and then relax with the good news.

I know you are going through a bad time now, but you need to stay positive. CP isn't for the the weak, and I believe God has a reason we are going through this. I think we become stronger, and look we are sharing our stories to encourage others.
My Paternal grandfather died of pan cancer, as did a uncle on my mothers side..But that was them, not me.. even though I have had diarrhea now for 8 weeks, it is just another obstacle to overcome. I don't think I will get Pan Cancer because I am just to darn stubborn, & if I do I will fight it like I do everything else.

It's easy to feel down in the dumps, but put some fun music on & don't think about it all the time...Live for today...

Thank you all for your support, and sorry for everything you have gone through too.
On the good news, no tumors or damage seen-relief. I was diagnosed "officially" with minimal change pancreatitis though as the dr said even though my scope was normal, every other symptom points to this. He is one of the best drs, so I trust him entirely. I will also be getting tested for a few other things, and will be doing deeper tests to test for diabetes etc. I am being put on a strong enzyme as well to deal with the malabsorption.
I am so thankful that not only am I free of cancer, but damage as well. It is amazing the painful episodes I get, etc... for no damage to show-but Il take it. There will still be a glimmer of hope that maybe it will be something else that is treatable, though I do know to trust in this dr.

YAY!!! What wonderful news. I can hear your sigh of relief through the computer :) May I ask you how you were diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis? And what enzyme and dosage the doctor has you on? Hope you feel better soon and thanks for keeping us posted.

I'm new to this and trying to learn as much I can. Would you mind sharing how the doctor knew you were malabsorbing? If you don't feel comfortable sharing, I understand. Aside from pain, were there any other symptoms you had? Weight loss? Hair loss? etc... Anything you're willing to share, I'm all ears. Best to you!

oh I was glad to hear you were clear from p. cancer. my nan died of it also. but she was elderly.

2boys! I have 4 boys :) and a grand daughter
malabsorption would be in going to the loo all the time. I think someone called it dumping. lol and losing weight. despite eating a sensible diet. I think u can also look at someone and see if they are healthy or not. but malabsoprtion is common in ppl with Cystic fibrosis. and they suffer AP/ CP quite a lot.

Twoboyz, responded to your inmail too:) But I have oily stools often, and they are ALWAYS soft or loose, and I have multiple per day. Also have some weight loss. Stools float often when its not D.

You can also do a fecal fat test, but that usually comes back positive when CP is late stage-which I do not have, but do have issues with digesting food. Its funny, I used to have the opposite issue -now I go t the bathrool 4/5 times a day often

Sesser, I was blown away by your recent posts because they could have been written by me, word for word, a few months ago. I am going to send you my e-mail address so we can correspond directly and not dominate the community chat board. But briefly, my current status is that my symptoms are being effectively managed most of the time by massive dosages of Creon daily, and an occasional Lomotil when necessary. Lomotil is greatest drug ever because it buys you 24 hours f feeling like a normal human being. Please keep the DS community informed of your status no matter how terrified you get. Soldier on, knowing that you are not doing it alone.
