I am so sorry, Sesser. That is certainly no fun. My doctor has said that if there is an autoimmune issue, the ANA will be abnormal. Maybe it's worth asking your doctor to repeat the ANA? Also, are you sure you are having pancreas pain and not spleen pain? Eat some chicken soup and rest! Hope you feel better soon.

Well, my spleen has always been normal on scans. Not sure if it would increase my lipase. At this point Ill likely be tested for lymphnoma too.

Awww, Sesser. I'm really sorry. I sympathize with you. I know how frustrating it can be to not feel well and not have a definitive answer. As for lymphoma... try not to worry. I just had a bunch of bloodwork done, and one of the tests was LDH. My doctor later explained that that test looks for lymphoma. If it will give you peace of mind, you could ask your doctor to run some bloodwork for you. I hope you feel better soon. (((hug)))

Not good, have you had your IGG levels checked? I kept having pneumonia and other real bad infections along with pancreas issues turns out CVID, which is an autoimmune disease.

Feel better and ret lots of rest..

Im not sure if Ive had the IGG test, Im sure somewhere along the way I have. I have had health issues for many years-started with gerd (now I think it was my pancreas causing that acid), then painful stinging neuropathy jumping around my joints, extreme muscle twitching (thousands per day), odd rashes --all of these come in flares. Then of course the best one (sarcasm) my pancreas pains and mild inflammation.
I did have the sed rate and ana run a few times-always negative. I am going in for a skin biopsy to check for small fiber neuropathy and vasculitits. I also go in for my SIBO test next wk

So, most likely they used the rapid mono-spot test on you to diagnose the active Mono. I personally have ALWAYS tested positive using that test, and a few years ago, someone actually did the titer (IGG) test and came back with results that I have NEVER had mono, according to my own immune system. Now, I had sore throat, immense fatique, throat blisters, you name it...basically textbook mono....but apparently it was something else. I discovered all this when I went to my Dr. bc of really bad fatique, and pain (now I know it was CP) but when she got that first monospot test back and it was positive....she just let me go for months while I was just gradually getting worse....I asked two doctors why I had a positive mono-spot test and no mono/EBV infection history and basically they told me it was not important to know. That was back in 2008.

Within the last yr I have found out I have Hemochromatosis (look it up!!!) and CP...so I know that one of these things can lead to a false positive on the mono-spot. keep searching for answers do a search on "false positives on mono spot test" and see the list....

I will also point out that when I had "mono" I was sick for 3 months...I mean it seemed like textbook mono! I have no idea what it actually was now! I am guessing just a stress-induced period of diminished immune system caused by my hemochromatosis blood disorder...

Thank you! I see a rheumatologist today and my internal dr on Monday. Something isnt adding up as to why this is back. Lymphnoma scares me, but I dont feel nodes popping out -so hoping thats not the case. As odd as this sounds, I WANT them to find something autoimmune so I can make sense out of ALL of this.

i was diagnosed with once having mono with a IgI testing. they test was to check me for Ebstein barr syndrome (EBV) there are times when i get a fever of 103 for no reason. i now understand why i get the fever.

I was 12 when i had mono, they treated me for a flu, in 1971 is when the London Flu Epidemic hit, i figured i would get mono so that they could mistreat me. as they did. love humor even if its i not right.

have then test you for EBV, that will let you know if you have ever had mono.

So many years later I iended up in the hospital wondering if at the time me being 44 had had a stroke. they dx me with strokes for only 7 months. I had a total of 4 so called strokes in 7 months. I was then dx with Multiple Sclerosis in 2004. In 2007 i was sanding and helping remodel our home and from the dust i got bronchitis, and in that x ray it showed my beautiful pancreas covered with i calcium. My pancreas is 90% covered in calcium. So my sister said that i am 90% stoned all the time.

an ANA test is one of the test that is not 100%. you can have a so very slight infection and it will be elevated. they keep testing me for Lupus too.

I keep telling my dr.s i will one day be a Dr. with everything going on who knows.

Yes I was tested for EBV showed past and current infection. I have more energy now, but still lethargic and have a sore throat. Its going on 1.5 months now
