Hi All,
I have been having joint pain a lot since being off chemo. I was told I need to exercise. I'm probably not doing enough & need to get my body moving more. I do walk quite a bit, but I need to do strength training. That's probably why I've gained some weight. I'm getting a bit depressed that I've gained at least 15 pounds since being off chemo in July.
I have my 1st 3month follow up on 11/7/14. I am a bit nervous about that. I'm assuming this is a normal feeling.
Lately, no matter what I do, I just feel like crying. I have a wonderful support system. I can't seem to bring myself to tell them my fears & anxieties. I'm so afraid that the cancer has come back. The fact that I had stage 4 & they advised keeping my port in because of the high occurrence is very scary.
Thank you,
Patty

This isn't really bipolar related but there is never anyone on the parenting groups, this is the most active group I've been in.My 6yr old son has really bad seasonal allergies and they're in full force right now. He gets a terrible cough; he coughs all day and all night, making it hard for him to sleep, and his nose runs.I've tried every allergy medicine, OTC and RX, and none of them affect his...

Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...

So where do you live Patty? I hail from Mid- Missouri! I don't check this website very often anymore. Guess just being busy trying to live. I actually forgot I had cancer for a little while this winter. But the stupid port in my chest keeps reminding me. Do you still have your port in?
Good for you on joining an exercise program. I have so many bulging disks in my spine and neck and cement in one of my vertebrae I don't know what kind of exercises I could do.
Well talk to you later. Judy
Fixing to start Taxol chemo again. I remember having aches with it. Especially my ankles and knees. Besides living with heating pads I use Icy Hot roll on . It really helps me. Sometimes I would just ice bag the areas but the heating pads felt so good. Missy
I ask my doctor (s) quite often about the weight gain and they just tell me to exercise more. I somewhat contribute it to my hysterectomy as I continue to eat a normal diet and remain active. Probably not as active as I can be but I try.
Good Luck to everyone.
Pussycat - I live in Vancouver WA. I hope you have been doing well. Mid Missouri can get wild weather, I hope all the tornados have missed you.
I started taking Glucosamine with MSM for the joint pain. I have noticed less overall joint pain. I can actually walk doen the stairs in the morning with out my knees hurting.
I just had my 9 month check up. The nurse I spoke to Monday when I called for my CA 125 results said that I'm extremely stable. It was at 10. At my next follow up in August we are to discuss removal of my port.

Missy I am so sorry that you have to take chemo again.
Patty- is it true it rains all the time up there in the NW? We haven't had any tornados so far. One year we had one hit about a half a mile from here.
Love to all of you...
I was diagnosed stage 3-C, 3 years ago, and never reached remission. been on 7 chemo drugs almost non-stop the entire 3 years. I used to be in constant fear that its going to kill me any day, but that eventually subsided, and now i just live, and enjoy every day i have. Good luck, and would you mind telling me your story? iI am curious what treatment you had that got you to remission. I love hearing the success stories, it gives me hope.
I was diagnosed stage IV in Feb 2014. I presented with fluid around my heart. That is how they found the cancer. I had 4 rounds of carboplatin & taxol. I then had hysterectomy. There weren't any lymph nodes affected & they didn't remove my omentum. I initally had 3 golf ball size tumors. They had shrunk to the size of jelly beans by the time I had my surgery. I then had 3 more rounds of chemo. My last follow up was in November. My CA 125 had risen from 11 to 15. I admit I panicked a bit. A gal I met at my last chemo had a recurrence in August & another gal I went to school with past away the day after I got my results. I had genetic testing done & I don't carry the BRCA genes. My cancer may have been due to the fact I was never able to have children. My gyno-oncologist said my uterus was twisted, so that's why I had difficulty getting pregnant & wouldn't be able to carry to term. If I had done more tests early on, they might have been able to make it possible to carry to term or suggested this might be a cause to get cancer. I hope this helps.
