After initial ovarian cancer diagnosis in August 2012 and two recurrences I now have metastatic liver cancer tumors. Per CT scan.
I live in Georgia but going back to MD Anderson in Houston next week for appointment.
Anyone with info. For me. Thanks, Missy

I'm sorry I'm reading this late. I'm guessing that you've had your appointment by now, and have some answers. I hope you got some answers to your questions and that the doctors have come up with a treatment plan for you. Diane

I don't get back to this website very often. How did your appt. go? I noticed that not too many people write on this discussion group like they do some of the others. Maybe we are all too busy trying to just survive. Hope you are doing ok!? Keep us posted. I may be slow to respond but I'll try to do better.
I have just undergone my first 3 mos. exam and I'm doing ok but still have fear of the stuff returning.

Hello Ladies !
My appointment is this coming Monday, March 23rd. So ( nervous, worried ) My CTScan and records have been forwarded to MDAnderson Cancer Hospital. I just hope and pray there is something that can be done for me . My local gyno-oncologist wanted to start me on weekly Taxol treatments. And have radiologist do needle biopsy of tumor to send for testing on tumor markers. I'm sure the testing will get done very soon whether at MD Anderson or back home.
Will know more after Monday meeting. Thanks for the responses. I just don't want to feel so alone !! Missy

Update: my meeting at MDAnderson went well today. My Doctor concurred with my oncologist back home that I have three rounds of weekly Taxol. Three weeks in a row then one week break. She feels since Taxol worked well with my initial diagnosis and after surgery that it should work well this time. No surgery or biopsies.
So as you know, I will lose all hair and be tired.. But I have no choice !
Going wig shopping tomorrow.

Oh that lovely taxol! I should be grateful that it helped save my life but the last dose I had did a whammy on my toes. Now I have no feeling in my toes. Can't get on tip toes or stand very long or I fall over.
Good luck and God bless you on your new round of chemo. How long do you have to keep it up this time?

missy54---- Happy to hear that you are going to MD Anderson.... It is one of the very best and coming up with new treatments all the time.. I pray the Taxol for 3 weeks will knock the cancer out. You might also ask about participating in clinical trial as they use some of the newest drugs in these and might just get rid of that cancer for you... Praying for a good out come for you. So glad you are getting treatment, and i hope it goes well. I have had a lesion on my liver since diagnosis. 3 years of chemo and never reached remission, so congrats on that! I wish you the same luck with this.
