Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
However, if you DON'T feel like your suicidal thoughts are just intrusive, and you might act on them, it's important that you make that clear to your pschiatrist. No matter what happens (though I doubt she/he will overreact), it's important that you don't hurt yourself and that someone knows what you're going through.
I'm sorry you have to deal with this--I know what you're going through, and it sucks. I've had suicidal thoughts since I was 9 or 10...it's an awful battle to have. Just don't guilt yourself over it.
They also have an emergency number which I can use if the first one is screwed up. I can also go to the hospital or their behavior clinic.
If you haven't asked your pdoc about such lines try the hotlines used by county agencies. It will be something like 1-800-suicidehelp or something like that. Try yellow pages or newspaper community phone lines.
You can also call your hospital and ask them for a hotline number.
Whatever you do, don't stop and do nothing.
