Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
Obsess on everything I say or do

I obsess on whatever I have said to anyone all day long. My only relief is sleep which of course is difficult because I am ruminating on whatever I did earlier. It is driving me nuts and even suicidal.

You can get help. Go to a psychiatrist. Someone specializing in anxiety if possible. You may also benefit from medication. I got better with therapy and medication combined. Good luck.

Thanks tired, I really need the therapy part of the equation.

I too suffer from OCD as well as PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc. Quite honestly, I have not found a solution to the obsessive thoughts that occur feeling a need to defend myself in potential encounters with others. I have had success in forcing myself to not try to achieve perfection which I was raised to do. Little things like not having labels perfectly aligned, accepting a wrinkle in the sheets, or a blemish on my skin really do help though it is challenging. I wish you all the best.

Try standing in front of a mirror and tell yourself~ I am a wonderful person. I don't always say the right thing but that's okay. It's ok that I have problems. I am not my problems. I am a damn nice human being.

Sarafina that would be a first for me to do that. I will have to try. Thank you.
