I have recently started taking phentermine 37.5 mg 1 tab daily. It is helping me not eat as much, infact Im never hungry, I have to force myself to eat and it isnt that much. Ive been taking it for almost a week now and I am very pleased with the appetite suppression.
Although, I have noticed changes in my mood. I know the side effects are irratibility, but Im not so much irritable as I am getting more depressed.
I am more emotional, I have noticed a sense of hopelessness lately. It could be b/c my husband and I are struggling financially but it seems to have hit me all at once.
My question is has anyone taken this drug, and how did you feel mentally while taking it?

I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...
If it's serious enough to make you concerned then bring it up with your dr. I was very open with my dr about everything. I was afraid of the pills and what could happen to me. However, my dr is GREAT and takes everything I bring up seriously and reassured me that I was fine and just reacting to circumstances rather than having a break down from taking diet pills.
On a side note. July 2nd I was 266 pounds. I took the pills for three months, and tonight I stepped on the scale at work (mostly out of curosity) and I'm at 207 pounds. The pills really helped me to learn what full really felt like. Which helped me to change what and how I eat.
