Not too many people came out in the bipolar group so I thought that maybe I would get more replies in this group. I am obese. There's no way getting around it now. I weigh in at 198 and for my stated age of soon to be 29 and current height of 5 ft 5 1/2. I should weigh in at approximately 136. I tried to start measuring my food last night because I have finally come to the realization that when I eat at home measuring my food and counting calories is now going to be a must. So the next time I make spaghetti I will try to cook less of it so I in turn eat less. I tried measuring a cup of each of the things I cooked last night and in turn found out that even at a cup it was waaaaaaaaaaay toooooooo much food for one person to consume. I had white shells pasta in white cheddar and corn. My question is how much food is actually the right amount to measure? Should I go down to half a cup of each? I don't want to become diabetic but In turn want to know how you diabetics go about counting calories and portion control. Don't mean to single you out. I just want to eat better and smarter.
Thanks in advance,

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
