I am about to turn 30. I have been having pretty severe anxiety for over a year. A lot of it is related to my health and my weight. I worry about my health, so then I start having chest pains from anxiety and then I convince myself I'm having a heart attack. It is a dirty, vicious cycle. I have an even harder time because ALL of my friends are thin and love to have drinks and go out to eat, and they ALL tell me that I'm not fat. I am though. Just because I don't look as big as I weigh...I am close to 300 pounds. I wear a size 16...I do have a lot of muscle left, I am very tall and curvy, but I am overweight. I can't stand the way my feet are swelling and my knees hurt. It makes me sick to think that I have let myself get to this point. I want to have children with my husband and I want to live a long full life. I exercise and I am starting to eat better and cut out a lor of the alcohol...but I really want to know, How do I deal in the interim? How do I make myself believe that I am not going to drop dead tomorrow? How do I get through this journey without killing myself with my own fears and anxieties? How do I get through it without having a drink every night to calm my nerves?

You are doing great working on a healthy lifestyle. Try and look at it like one day at a time and do activities that relax you. When you feel the anxiety sneaking in, think pleasant thoughts and try and boost that anxiety out. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you. This wt thing takes a lot of work and lots of patience. Keep focusing on your goals and you will be fine....
