If my ifs are in alignment, there have been 3 newcomers here in a single week. I've been lurking in this forum long enough to believe that might even be unprecedented here. Maybe. Haven't been enthusiastic in my lurking to have kept records, but I thought I would re-introduce myself with hopes that others might introduce themselves, as well.
I have been attempting to find on-going dialog since 1998 when my then 18 year old son was officially dx'ed with Narcolepsy. I nearly took the test myself, since I have quite allot of the symptoms, but didn't see the point. Available treatment for Narcolepsy looks allot like the treatment for Bi-polar I had already been receiving for years. I read somewhere that Bi-polar is the #1 misdiagnosis for Narcolepsy. For sure, there are more resources and peer support groups available for BP. I works with what's available. When I brought up in my therapy sessions, the therapist responded, "You could be right, but I would have to look it up in the dictionary before I could even begin educating myself." Heard similar from family doctors, etc. Narcoleppsy is pretty much taboo topic with the eldest son and has been from the start. Not quite sure why and don't much trust any of the theories I've found so far.
Anyhoo. . . That is my general gee of my lurking here in the Narcolepsy forum.
Anybody else?

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
