hey hon. every 2 weeks sounds pretty good. I remember Dad doing that for a little bit. the chair lift sounds like a great idea!

Joe was diagnosed yesterday with AML and it is very aggressive. Has very little time left. His kids will be here in FL from CA tomorrow. This has not hit me since I am so exhausted. Please pray for him and keep a good thought that maybe there is some med that will help him beat this.

I haven't posted for awhile, mostly because I don't know what's going on.I'm now playing the waiting game. I should get the results of a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow. I just read the latest from Millie & Tecia. Sending hugs your way. my prayers are with you.

So very sad! Joe passed away last night. He fought the good fight but unfortunately could not win the war. My best to all of you.

It is now just over 2 weeks since my Joe left and I wanted to tell you a couple of things that happened that final week and days afterward. His 3 kids and grands were here and Joe was in a most wonderful hospice. Thursday, the day he passed, it was a sunny, gorgeous day. I was walking my 3 dogs early in the AM before going to see Joe. I looked up and there was the most beautiful rainbow and I knew that my son (who had passed 3 years before) was sending me a sign that they knew today was the day and they were waiting with open arms to take him Home. Joe passed away at 5 minutes to midnight with his son holding his hand. The following Tuesday, I was backing my car out of the garage and at least 50 birds were flying over just my house. I got out of the car and stood there watching in amazement. They flew over my house and around me. This lasted several minutes and then they flew away. My neighbor saw all of this and her answer was the same as mine, a sign from God that Joe is OK. I am at peace. My love and prayers go out to all of you.

This is really bugging me. I'm just wondering did any of you ever hear of this awful disease being caused by CT scans. Joe had plenty in his lifetime and I see one of the causes is radiation. What a crime if that was the cause. Isn't the first statement in the Hypocratic Oath "First Do No Harm". Joe never had any of the other listed causes except age. Just venting!!

Milli I just got this as I haven't been able to get on in awhile. I am so sorry about Joe! Your story is so moving and at the same time so amazing! You are in my prayers hon.

Thank you for all the kind words. Next week I take Joe's ashes to NJ for a military burial. I still second guess myself. Did I miss something? What if I did this or that? Bottom line - this really stinks! Why can't they find a cure for this? Best of everything to all of you who have been so kind. Stay well.

oh hon I know what you mean. I have done the same thing about my Dad's passing. Did I do enough? should I have pushed him further? hon we did all we could. I am sure your husband knows that too. Please take care of yourself. (((hugs)))

One thing that has really helped me is going through the old posts and reading how we are coping (or not) with this disease. I cried when I read some of my comments. But in my heart I believe I did the best I could for Joe.

I haven't posted for quite a while, so sorry to read about the passing of the loved ones of people who post on this wonderful site. I believe that everyone on this page is doing and has done their very best for their family. All that we can ever do is our best and that is enough. Nobody should ever doubt themselves, Just read all the posts from all you wonderful people, and thinking you are indeed good caregivers. My husband Domenic is fighting this dreadful disease ,still feeling very confident that he will around for a long time yet. He is getting 3 bloods and 2 platelets weekly. Keep the faith. :-)
