Myelodysplasia Support Group
The myelodysplastic syndromes (formerly known as "preleukemia") are a diverse collection of haematological conditions united by ineffective production of blood cells and varying risks of transformation to acute myelogenous leukemia. Anemia requiring chronic blood transfusion is frequently present. Although not a true malignant neoplasm, MDS is nevertheless classified...
My prayers are with everyone out there in our Leaky Boat Crew....keep up the good work...and birdmom...get well soon!
I's been just over 1 month since Lou's passing - Mocha and I clearly feel a void but we're getting stronger each and every day.
We got a dump of snow on Tuesday...16 inches at our house....couldn't get out of the garage...finished clearing the driveway about 1pm....by then the office was closed due to a power outage...just a day off with loads of sore muscles to show for it.
Enjoy each and every day with your loved ones.
Gayle & Mocha
You sure are suffering a double/triple whammy with your other physical problems.
Do you know what category of MDS you fall into?
Posh, I've been resting a lot to be well enough for the baby trip. I'm better, but not nearly enough to suit me. I hear this nasty cough is going around.
Mike, I'm glad to hear they're taking good care of you.
Gayle, sounds like you & Mocha are on the road to the right place in life.
It's snowing here, a couple of inches so far, but it won't last much longer & it's above freezing, so it should melt fast too.
I see that you are dealing with a cough...I hope that clears up for you soon...I'll say a prayer for you. I'll also include all the members of the leaky boat crew. Ive been a "stalker" for awhile..(reading your posts!) and am happy to climb aboard with you all!
Jally & all the crew, I'm finally mending--slowly, but enough to make the grandbaby trip today. I'll be away till Friday.
Hang in there, everyone!
Jally, there are about 5 categories of MDS. I don't remember the details except the relief of knowing that I'm in one of the "best" categories. Next time you see your oncologist, ask him which one you fit into.
I've only had one BMB & no talk of any more in future. But it sounds like you have peripheral problems, whereas I don't.
And how is everyone else? It was pretty quiet while I was gone visiting my beautiful granddaughter, now 2-1/2 months old. What a treat at my age!
congrats on the granddaughter! mine will be here before I know it. Dad is still holding on but I really think his dr is going to stop transfusions after the granddaughter arrives. not sure just yet but she kind of suggested that. good to see you back!
I go on a read your posts every few day so I keep track of all of you. So many ups and downs in life....Janet
Sounds like you're going to have a legitimate reason to get out of a lot of housework!
Good luck with yours. Let us know how it goes.
God Bless,
Mike
