I understand. I missed grocery shopping so much that I rode one of the motor carts. WOW! Did I have a blast! My husband split the list like we always did before and away I went. Sadly, I haven't had the energy to go to the store to shop lately. But I look forward to the next time that I can ride away in that nice little motor cart.

It is hard to admit that we need assistant devices. We all have to learn our lessons. A couple of weeks ago we went away for the day. I didn't walk much, but I didn't want to ask for my wheel chair either. So, I was down for two solid days. All I could do was sleep and rest. Over do - that's our middle name, Charlie. I think once we learn that we can do more with these devices, whatever they may be-the happier we will be and the more quality of life we will have.

So...did you buy a lawn mower? hehehe

Oh, was at Lowes with husband last week. Went through the door, saw that all the carts were gone.. waddled back to the car.

Nope , haha , I didn't buy the mower . I already have one that is 3 years old so it will do. I laughed tho -- the guy said I could mow at 5 mph . i thought wow --thats what I need with double vision -- a Tool Time Tm lawn mower

It's okay when someone doesn't know what's going on with my eyes, but I love people that know I've got bad double vision and suggest crazy things that I should do where I absolutely have no chance of doing such with the double vision. I know that's not where your post was headed, but a riding mower sounds pretty fun lol.

We will cut you some slack.....Lowes is a huge store.

I think I have been doing it all wrong....I use the mowers at Lowes as the helper cart :-)

I NEVER go to a store anymore. EVERYTHING I order online! I even ordered ALL of my plants this year (annuals) for my planter boxes online and they will deliver right before Memorial Day weekend so I have time to plant. My soil was delivered by Shoprite From Home. You can get ANYTHING online!! The Lowes here has an online system where you choose your items online and pay for them and then pick them up at the front of the store. I don't miss shopping at all.....hiking yes..

I have been in that same spot before, well not that specific spot but very close. I was a mess by the time I did make it to the front of the store and had to call the hubby to have my mestinon delivered to the grocery store. When he wasn't able to help me (he had just had back surgery) we had to call my best friend and her husband to get me home. He got me to the car and drove me home but the only thing that we could think of to get me to my apartment was to put me on our flat bed dolly (personal size, not the big ones) and pull me into the elevator and drag me down the hall and into my apartment. That's a special kind of humiliation when it take a village of people to negotiate your delivery to your own home. As if that wasn't bad enough, he and his wife had to help me to use the restroom for fear that I would lose control of my bladder once I was in bed. That was not a good day at all.

Now that I've made a name for myself at the grocery store the staff won't let me walk around. They've asked that I phone ahead to make sure a cart is charged for me. THAT'S SAD, but necessary.

Now, if I could just get beyond the stares of older folks pushing their carts and doing just fine. They look at me like I'm a teenager who has decided to take a thrill ride or something. The next time they do that I'm going to run over their toes. Okay, I probably won't do that but a girl can dream, can't she? lol

I have gotten myself stranded at the back of the store before. I used to get a shopping cart and lean on it and use it as a walker. I learned the hard way that if you are going to go to the bathroom while you are using this type of walker that you should put at least one piece of merchandise in it as a placeholder so no one will take your cart. I have come out of the bathroom at Lowes and at wallmart and hobby lobby to find my cart gone. I don't have the strength to do that anymore, so I bring my own ride or use theirs.
