Good Morning
I would to know if anyone's sugar levels have spike after receiving IVIG. Every time I receive IVIG my vision seem to be blurred.

Check the brand of Ivig you are getting and the ingredients. Some are glucose based and are not good for blood sugars or kidneys. Also, if they are giving you fluids during Ivig, it may also be sugar water.

there is something called "falsely elevated glucose level" that can be a result of IVIG.
One statement:
"The manufacturer of Octagam has added maltose (100 mg/mL) to make it isotonic with plasma, but this substance can also interfere with certain blood and urine glucose tests."
If you search the internet you will find some info and some adverse effects as a cause of these readings.

Hi. I hv gotten Gammugrard and Privirgin and they did not affect my sugars.

Sorry for the delayed response. Somehow I missed this post.

Anyway, sometimes they premedicate for IVIG with steroids. I noticed that when on the orders for some of the patients I use to work with. Is it possible that your doctor has done the same with you?

It's just a thought. I hope this helps and that your sugar is improved by now.
