Yes I had that problem and the dr. said not to take it at night, that solved it.

I had some strange mood swings, dreams and other oddities when I was at 60 mg/per day, but mostly had trouble sleeping at all. I took a lot at first, but when MG got under control, was able to take much less, and at the lower dosages (i.e. 30 and less) most of that went away.

I'm a complete disaster on it. Yes I hv the same thing. Also hv. Blood sugars in the 400's. Won't sleep but 1-2 hrs a night. Beyond hyper to the point I can hardly work. That is when I'm in 60 MG. ( I hv to say at 60 to maintenan function when on Imram it's the only treatment option )There are meds they can put you in to counteract all the side affects. For me its only used on it in a. ER.

I am on prednisone for the second time after a double vision flare-up (after surgery). I am also taking cellcept and mestinon. The strange thing is my symptoms seem to be worse in the morning when I first take the prednisone. I have tapered up slowly, so I don't think it is a reaction to the prednisone. First, I tried not taking mestinon until later in the morning and that didn't work. Next, I tried taking the prednisone when I wake up during the night, and that seems to help a little (plus no insomnia from it yet). Now I am thinking it might just be glucose levels since I usually eat around the time I take my metformin and glimpride. So, today I bought some boost for diabetics and am going to try that for breakfast for a few days. The good news is my double vision got better at 30 mg, almost went away at 35, and now I am at 40 mg with hardly any symptoms. Bad news is I now have a long, slow taper and most likely won't go to zero again with the prednisone. Got an evaluation this friday for a thymectomy, and I am looking more closely at that.

Yes, yes, yes I have Melatonin to help with the insomnia. I am only on 30mg and will be tapering up to 40 plus. My blood sugars have been 400 plus which caused my diabetes medication to be increased. The Metformin is killing my stomach, along with the Mestinon and Imuran. My neuro prescribed Zantac 150mg my stomach, which seems to help. I try to stay positive and make each day the best I can, but I have been dx since Sept 2016 and I do not feel like myself and I don't know if I ever will. I hope some of the remedies I use can help you. I'm sure what to suggest about the dreams and hallucinations as I am still working through this issue as well.. Good luck.

If the Melatonin comes from a natural supplements store it might not have melatonin in it. Those drugs are completely unregulated, so I stay away. When I was on 60 mg of prednisone I was "Ambien Man." Once, while on ambien, I had to get up and take care of my kids and went back to sleep--I have no memory of doing any of this, but I am glad my ambien personality was not crazy or violent! I also got xanax when I was on 60 mg of prednisone and I bet you can get it too. That was able to put me out. Now that I am on 5 mg my Dr. won't give me anymore. :( ~joe

I sound like a druggy, but sleep is vitally important to us MGers, and so a sleeping pill RX is important for you when you are taking 60 mgs of prednisone. If you can't sleep there's no way to recharge your receptors and you will get worse and worse. Plus the anxiety is terrible, and draining. If there is any time when a tranquilizer or a sleeping pill is neccessary, it is when you are on a truck-load of steroids. ~joe

Totally agree about the sleeping. I need 1/2 a unisom most nights now that I'm on so much prednisone (80mg/every other day). Whatever works to get some quality sleep
