just been recently diagnosed with mg. I had double vision since November 2015 and went through numerous ct scans and Mri also had emg done. All were negative because it is only ocular. Still waiting for a musk antibody blood test. I am taking 120 mg four times a day of mestinon and it is helping, although my tongue has become swollen. This has happened only three times so far. Does anyone know if this is a side effect of mestinon or is this part of the disease? Thanks for all your input.

MG seems to sometimes include swollen tongue. Searching on the internet Myasthenia gravis swollen tongue found several references including some saying that swollen tongue can be a symptom as well as others that said an allergic reaction to Mestinon could also cause swollen tongue. So it appears that either could be the cause. Of course, the best thing to do is to talk to your neuro and see if he/she has an answer.
