Prednisone worked so good for me when I was first diagnosed, that I put up with the side effects. The list of problems is high, but some are mostly if you take it long term, and most of us hope to get off of it and on to an alternate eventually.
Weight gain, moon face, are, I think what all of us have on high doses. I too took it at 60 for few months. I got high BP and glucose levels too. as well as sort of hyper activity at 60, mood swings, and more.
Most of my worst symptoms were much better at 30 or less. Prednisone took me from a basket case to almost normal in about 5 months, so it was a wonder drug for me in spite of the side effects.
Long term (years), cataracts, osteoporosis and diabetes may come too. My bushy beard disguised moon face.
Good Luck
