Taking methotrexate for 2 months. I am now up to the max dosage of 20 mg that my doctor prescribed. The only side effect so far are mouth sores but a good mouth wash helps with that issue. I was not able to take imuran and was on cellcept for two years but the MG conditions had progressively gotten worse. I like my red wine, couple of glasses a week but with methotrexate you are not allowed any alcohol.

We use mtx for out arthritis patients. Folic acid or leucovorin can help with mouth sores. Larger doses than 20 mg can be given by injection. Hadn't heard using it for MG. Could make sense for steroid sparing. Mtx is usually better tolerated than cellcept. Just depends..everyone different. Mtx is metabolized by liver...so is ur wine. Tell u not to drink because taxing on liver. Good luck

I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...
